Legal Notice & Disclaimer
Last updated 14 September 2026
This page has two parts: the legal notice (Impressum) required for any commercial online service operated from Germany, and a disclaimer explaining what Astrocounts is — and just as importantly, what it is not. It should be read alongside our terms and conditions.

Not tax, legal or financial advice
Astrocounts helps you record, organise and report your business transactions — invoices, expenses, VAT and double-entry books. It does not provide tax, legal, accounting or financial advice, and nothing produced by the app (reports, VAT figures, DATEV exports, categorisations or suggestions) should be treated as such. Rules like VAT treatment, the Kleinunternehmer regime, reverse charge, or e-invoicing obligations depend on facts specific to your business. Always confirm how they apply to you with a qualified tax adviser or accountant before filing or relying on any figure.
No affiliation with tax authorities or DATEV
Astrocounts is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of any tax authority, DATEV, or any other third-party software or standards body it interoperates with (for example ZUGFeRD/XRechnung formats). Export and import features are provided for your convenience and do not guarantee acceptance by any specific recipient system.
Automated document scanning is assistive, not authoritative
Where a company enables AI-assisted scanning of receipts or incoming invoices, Astrocounts extracts fields such as vendor, date, total and tax using an automated service. This extraction can be wrong — a smudged receipt, an unusual layout, or a model error can all produce an incorrect field. Astrocounts presents a confidence score and a review step for this reason: always check the extracted values against the original document before filing an expense or relying on the figure. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you ultimately post to your books, whether it was typed by hand or extracted automatically.
You are responsible for your own data
You decide what you enter into Astrocounts and how you use it. We do not review, audit or verify the substance of your bookkeeping, and we are not a party to your filings with any tax authority or third party. Keeping your records accurate, complete and lawful is your responsibility.
Provided “as is”, without warranty of fitness for a specific outcome
Astrocounts is provided free of charge at this stage of the product, and is offered on an “as is” basis without any warranty that it is fit for a particular regulatory outcome, filing deadline, or audit requirement. We work to keep the calculations and exports correct, and we use the app for our own books, but you should independently verify anything a tax authority, bank, or auditor will rely on.
Third-party services
Astrocounts may link to, or send data to, third-party services you choose to enable (for example an AI provider used for document scanning). We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, availability or policies of third-party services, which are governed by their own terms.
Changes to this page
We may update this legal notice or the disclaimer as the product or our details change. The current version always applies to your use of Astrocounts; check the date above for the last update.
